Community - Part 3
For all the talk of the need for community within the church, I haven’t seen or felt that there is a mutual desire for it. By desire, I mean like an unquenchable thirst. While I am NOT suggesting that community is in and of itself the goal (THAT should be our ever-growing relationship with Christ!), I AM saying that, unless there are mutual desires for community, where both parties are willing to do WHATEVER it takes (putting down pride, letting down walls of defensiveness, not being judgmental, becoming transparent with their lives and struggles), community cannot and will not exist.
